Harare, Zimbabwe (Capital Markets in Africa):-Zimbabwe equity markets returned to negative at the end of Thursday’s trading session. The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) industrial index declined by 0.09 percent or 0.12 points to end at 135.47 points. The market capitalization ended at US$3.549 billion by gaining US$7 million relative to market capitalization of US$3.556 billion recorded at the previous trading session.
The market activity today recorded a turnover of US$381,764 (a reduction compared to 1,134,382 recorded at previous session) exchanged in 11 traded securities via 21 trade transactions. Foreign investor buys US$248,690 and foreign sells US$192,406 today. Out of the 11 traded securities, Delta Corporation Limited recorded at US$240,377 exchanged in 282,797 traded securities and OK Zimbabwe Limited recorded at US$44,395 exchanged in 616,603 traded stocks. Equally, Dawn Properties Limited with 1,109,942 shares valued at US$18,536 and Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited recorded 500,000 shares with total value of US$12,500.
From the market activities strength views, there were one price gainer, four price losers and six prices remained unchanged, hence market strength ended negative. The price gainers was Dawn Properties Limited traded at US$0.0167 after adding 0.60 percent or U$0.0001. On the contrary, NicozDiamond Insurance Limited slumped by 20.00 percent or US$0.0036 to close at US$0.0144 and Radar Holdings Limited closed at US$0.0248 after losing 17.33 percent or US$0.0053. Zimplow Limited sagged by 16.66 percent to settle at US$0.0250 and Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited ended at US$0.0250 after falling by 10.71 percent.
The Mining index lost 2.37 points or 6.71 percent to close at 32.97 points. Bindura Nickel Corporation Limited dropped by US$0.0025 to trade at US$0.0250, Hwange Colliery Company Limited and RioZim Limited maintained previous price levels at US$0.0280, US$0.0340 and US$0.1200 respectively. Falcon Gold Limited also remained steady at US$0.0040.
